THE STORY OF WAQTUN
Every journey begins with time. Every purpose is shaped by it.
For us, it began with a question: "Why don't Egyptians design watches?
From that spark, Waqtun was born. A name that comes from Waqt, the Arabic word for time, reimagined to carry both local pride and global resonance. A word that is simple, premium, and timeless.
We refused to settle for imitation or superficial design. Instead, we looked to our roots, to Egypt’s greatest gift to the world: design and geometry. Just as the ancients built wonders from sacred proportions, we chose to build a modern symbol of authenticity. Not by copying the past, but by carrying it forward with global craftsmanship and contemporary innovation.
It took us two years, countless sketches, and many trials before arriving at sacred geometry as our foundation. From there, the Waqtun design language was born, unique, subtle, and timeless.
We are four partners who share the same roots but bring different strengths and experiences. Together, we chose to create something for our country and for ourselves: not just a watch brand, but a movement that will outlive us.
